My father was so much more than ' just a great guy'...as the obituary displays. My father woke up each and everyday thinking of how he can serve others before himself. He gave everything of himself to anyone he knew. His friends are quoted as saying my father was the only loyal, solid, and trustworthy person they knew. And that they became a better person for having known him. My father was the complete epitome of total selflessness. He struggled so much but NEVER complained or asked help from anyone. Ever. My father believed..." One should carry their own weight in life". And that he did. Never wanting to burden anyone. He kept moving on not saying a word.. In his last months of his life, barely being able to take a step without unspeakable pain, my father made sure he went to each and every basketball and football game of his grandsons. Even though the pain was so excruciating to walk so far,, he made sure he got up close to the field for the last game. His dedication to all of us was unmatched. My three children James, Ella, and Neill, had the most devoted grandfather that called them each morning to greet them, and each night to say goodnight. He hugged them extra long " Just in case it was the time they saw him, he wanted them to have that memory last"...he always said. He showed everyone he knew-the perfect example of being a strong, hardworking, giving, dependable human being. He left a mark on everyone that crossed his path.
As his friends said to me...
" They just don't make 'em like that anymore".

I am lost without him. I love you Daddy. Your one and only, Jennifer.
