Obituary for Charles A. "KUSH" Popeck

Charles “KUSH” Popeck, a 51 year resident of Wallington, entered eternal life, Dec 27th, he was 79. Kush as he was known by his friends was born in Passaic, Dec 3rd, 1937 to Charles and Mary (Surdyka) Popeck. He grew up in Elmwood Park and Garfield. When he was a young man he was a semi-pro bowler. On Oct 20th, 1962 Kush married Virginia Giaquinto. He was self-employed at BG News in Lyndhurst. Family was very important to Kush. He was an avid “Sports Enthusiast,” he loved working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles and traveling with Ginny and his friends. Kush is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Virginia “Ginny” Popeck, his 2 loving sons and their wives, Charles and Diane and Thomas and Lara. He is survived by his cherished grandchildren Cole and Alana and his sister Eleanor Popeck Rigolosi, brother in law Vince, many cousins, friends, and his dear dog and special companion “Zoe”. Visiting Thurs 4-8 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Fri, The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington. In lieu of flowers and at Kush’s request the family has requested donations to the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.
