It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eugeniusz Wilk of Garfield, New Jersey, who entered eternal life on Saturday, February 11th, 2023, he was 80. Eugeniusz was born in Brzostowa Góra, Poland on February 20, 1942, to Jan and Maria (Ziółkowski) Wilk. On October 25, 1969, Eugeniusz married his beloved wife Genowefa (Gunia) Wilk. During his time in Poland, he made a living manufacturing roof tile. In 1996, he came to the United States, settling in Garfield, NJ, where he worked as a masonry assistant. His physical strength was remarkable, and the younger members of his team often “struggled to match his pace." Eugeniusz was a man of many hobbies. He had a special buzz for beekeeping, and he never missed a chance to try his luck with lotteries and scratch-offs. When he wasn't busy chasing honey or his next big win, he could be spotted pedaling away on his trusty bicycle whistling a tune as he explored the world with a happy heart, bright and early in the morning. Eugeniusz had a passion for gardening and had quite the green thumb. He took great delight in tending to his flourishing crops. This early-bird on wheels definitely knew how to live life to the fullest. Eugeniusz was a deeply cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Genowefa, his beloved children, Danuta and her husband Stefan, Lucyna and her husband Jan, and Renata and her husband Sebastian, and his cherished grandchildren, Kamil, Joanna, Paulina, Krystian, Dominika, Patrycja, Karol, and Nikodem, and his adored great-grandchildren Daniel, David, Szymon, Oliwia, Maya, Klara, Damian, Liliana, and Victoria. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 11am, Friday, February 17, St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 184 Ray St., Garfield, NJ 07026. Eugeniusz will be laid to rest in Poland on a later date.
