Obituary for Genevieve "Genia" Maliszewski (Kropiewnicka)

Genevieve "Genia" Maliszewski of Carlstadt, NJ entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022, she was 84. Genia was born in Bialystok, Poland to Chester and Anna (Perkowska) Kropiewnicki. Genia was married to her beloved husband John Maliszewski, in Poland, on September 2nd, 1956, and they have been married for over 65 years. The family came to the United States in 1963, first living in Fairview, Passaic, Wallington and finally settling in Carlstadt. Genia had worked as a pharmaceutical packager at Hoffman LaRoche, retiring in 2001. Genia was a devout Catholic, read her Bible daily, and was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Passaic. She had also been an active member of the St. Joseph's Leisure Club. Genia enjoyed walking on the beach in the early morning and playing the one arm bandits in Atlantic City. She also found immense joy in tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, cooking homemade meals, baking and just spending time with her family; both the immediate and the extended family gatherings. Genia truly enjoyed vacationing with her grandchildren, sitting on the deck to people watch, watching Judge Judy and the game show network. Genia also enjoyed sneaking extra doggie treats to her devoted pup Mango. Genia is survived by her beloved husband John, her three beloved children, Chris and her husband Bob DeGregorio, Nancy Maliszewski, Jimmy and his wife Rose-Marie Maliszewski. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visiting 5 - 8 pm, Friday, March 25th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington, NJ 07057. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Saturday, March 26th, St. Joseph's Church, 7 Parker Ave. Passaic, NJ 07055.
