Genowefa Kuna of Wallington, entered eternal life on September 22nd, 2022, she was 88. Genowefa was born on June 27th, 1934 in Kolbuszowa, Poland to Jan and Julia (Kiwak) Cebula. She emigrated to the United States in 1976 and has been a Wallington resident since. Genowefa worked as a seamstress in Carlstadt prior to her retirement. She enjoyed making beautiful things and continued sewing in her retirement years. Her favorite things included gardening, dancing, and a good bargain. She greatly enjoyed cooking and took pride in hosting her family and friends for every holiday. Genowefa was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony Rekawek, her brothers, Jan and Tadeusz Cebula, her sister, Janina Bak, and her beloved daughter Lidia Soja, who died on June 9th, 2013. She is survived by her devoted granddaughter Izabela Hettel and her husband Andrew Schwartz of Byram Township, NJ, her brother Josef Cebula, and her dear friend James Kupchik. Genowefa was a parishioner of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, in Wallington. A memorial funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 9am, at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, 127 Paterson Avenue, Wallington, NJ. Genowefa will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery.
