Genowefa Pokrzywa of Garfield, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Monday, December 20th, 2021, she was 82. Genowefa was born in Lukawiec, Poland on July 23rd, 1939, to Jan and Aniela (Malicka) Medrala. Genowefa was married to Kazimierz Pokrzywa on January 7th, 1961 in Poland. In 1978 they emigrated to the United States. During her professional career, she worked at SmithKline Beecham in Clifton, NJ for over 20 years, retiring in 2006. Genowefa enjoyed dancing, gardening, baking, cooking, casino slots, playing cards with friends, and taking care of her family. Genowefa was also a long-time parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Garfield. She is survived by her beloved husband Kazimierz Pokrzywa of nearly 61 years; her devoted children Stanislaw & his wife Renata Pokrzywa and Jolanta & her husband Zbigniew Wiercioch; her loving grandchildren Sylvia & her husband Marcin Bucharowski, Daniel & his wife Aileen Pokrzywa, and Angelica Wiercioch; her cherished great-grandchildren Milena and Adrian; and her dear sisters Elizabeth Milik & Irene Dul and their families. Genowefa will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 Outwater Lane, Saddle Brook, NJ 07026.
