Jerzy Szyba of Garfield, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023. He was 66. Jerzy was born in Tarnow, Poland on August 26th, 1956 to Zygmunt Szyba and Maria (Sikora) Szyba. Jerzy was married to Elzbieta (Krol) Szyba, his beloved wife of 47 years. In 1989, Jerzy and Elzbieta founded Tarnovia Universal Sewing Corp., located in Garfield, and later in Clifton, employing hundreds of people from all corners of the world. Jerzy had a knack for languages, with the amazing ability to speak Spanish in many dialects, even learning how to sing happy birthday in Korean to his daughter in-law, Tammy. Jerzy was mechanically inclined with a photographic memory and if he took it apart, he could rebuild it even better. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elzbieta, his loving son, Robert and wife Tammy, his two cherished granddaughters, Tessa and Tegan, and his sister Krystyna.
