Joan Miller of Wallington, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Thursday, January 5th, 2023. Joan was born in her grandmother’s house in Garfield, New Jersey, to John and Stella (Marchut) Tencza. Joan was married to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, William Miller Jr. Joan graduated East Rutherford High School as salutatorian, continuing to the Wood Secretarial School in New York City. During her professional career, Joan had worked as an Administrative assistant in DuMont Labs. After putting her career on hold to raise her cherished family, Joan became a secretary/payroll clerk for the Wallington Board of Education to the Bus. Admin, retiring after 25 years. Joan had many interests. She was a major league bowler for many years as well as an accomplished gardener. Joan also enjoyed going to Pennsylvania to play slots, creating beautiful beaded flowers and traveling throughout the United States and Europe with her sister, Shirley. She is survived by her loving children, John and his wife Dawn Miller, Sharon and her husband Edward Gilmour, and Marlene and her husband Edward Marut, her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Marut and Jake Miller, and her dear great grandchildren, Molly Guilmette and Chloe Clarkson. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Shirley Bence. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband William (1983), her son William (2019) and her brother in-law Ernest.
