Obituary for Josef Schmidt

Josef Schmidt of Clifton, New Jersey, entered eternal life on Saturday, July 18th, 2020, he was 72. Josef was born in Heidenhein Germany, on October 31st, 1947, to Adam and Maria (Staudinger) Schmidt. He was brought to the United States as a toddler in January of 1952, and was raised in Passaic and later Clifton. Josef entered the United States Army and proudly served from 1967-1969. On October 19th, 1974, Josef married Dorothy who predeceased him on July 30th, 1990. Josef was married to Katherine (Wallace) Schmidt, on May 2nd, 1998. Josef took over his father's company Adam Schmidt Construction and continued operating the company until early 2010. He had been a long time member of the Cedar Grove Dive Supply Group, (a SCUBA and Dive club) and the Property Owner's Association, Lawrenceville, NJ. Josef is survived by his beloved wife Katherine (Kathy) Schmidt, his beloved and devoted son Joseph J. Schmidt his dear sister Anita Kipikasha, his dear brother Frank Schmidt and his dear sister Eva Timbiano. He was predeceased by his brother Adam Schmidt, Jr. Visiting 4-7pm, Sunday, August 2nd, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave., Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 3rd, 10:00 am, at St. Clare Roman Catholic Church, 69 Allwood Rd, Clifton, NJ 07014. Josef will be laid to rest at St. Michael's Cemetery, 120 Saddle River Road, South Hackensack.
