Obituary for Joseph Sloma

Jozef (Joseph) Sloma, a lifelong resident of Garfield and Totowa, entered eternal life on Friday, February 10th, 2023, he was 73. Jozef was born in Korczowiska, Poland on June 3rd, 1949, to Wojciech and Anna (Szot) Sloma. In 1967, he came to the United States and settled in Passaic. Jozef married Teresa (Kata) Sloma, on November 28th, 1970, at St. Joseph’s Church in Passaic. During his professional career, Jozef was a general contractor and a talented mason, specializing in all areas of home improvement throughout Bergen and Passaic County. He especially enjoyed building his family home and renovating Pappy’s Diner in Totowa . Jozef and Teresa were married for 52 beautiful years, he enjoyed time with his family; taking trips to Wildwood, The Poconos, Lake Silkworth, PA, Florida and Caribbean cruises. Jozef was an adored husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jozef is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa, his cherished children, Stasia, Richard and his wife Valerie and Joanne and her husband Tomasz, his beloved grandchildren, Julie, Michael, Isabella and Jacob. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Stanley, Tadeusz, Sophie, Louie, Mary, William, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Jozef was predeceased by his brother John. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10 am Tuesday, February 14th, St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 7 Parker Ave., Passaic, NJ 07055. Jozef will be laid to rest, St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 Outwater lane, Saddle Brook, NJ
