Jozef Zakrzewski of Passaic entered eternal life on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, he was 75. Jozef was born in Drewnowo Golyn, Poland on March 20th, 1948, to Alexander and Stanislawa Zakrzewski (Murawska). Having graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree, this helped him gain his professional career, working as a chemist, at Fisher Scientific, in Fairlawn, New Jersey. Jozef immigrated to the United States in 1956. His love for his country never faltered, as he would travel back to Poland annually. Jozef was a very well-rounded individual, whose interests ranged from reading and classical music, to being an outdoors man who enjoyed gardening, camping, and skiing. Jozef was also a known handyman, always able to take on the tasks of house repairs. He was also very active in Polish organizations, which included the board of directors for the Polish Home Cracovia, the Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Polish Youth Organization, to name a few. He is survived by his loving children, Monika, Adam and his wife Erica, his cherished granddaughter Josephine, and his brother Aleksander and his wife Zofia. Jozef was predeceased by his sister Jadwiga and her husband Edward Kietlinski. Visiting 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, at Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington, NJ 07057. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church 7 Parker Avenue Passaic, NJ. Jozef will be laid to rest 11:30 am on August 16th, 2023, at St. Michael's Cemetery, 120 Saddle River Road.
