Mary Orange of Wallington, NJ, and formerly a lifelong Pearl River and Bardonia, NY resident, entered eternal life on Thursday, March 14th, 2019, she was 94. Mary was born in Pearl River, NY on October 30th, 1924, to William and Margaret (Helmke) Frohling. Mary was very proud that she was a graduate of the Pearl River High School, Class of 1942 and that she was the Class Valedictorian. She married her beloved husband John W. Orange, Sr. of 55 years on December 14th, 1942 at St. Margaret's Church in Pearl River. During WWII Mary had worked at Camp Shanks, where she assisted in the processing of tens of thousands of men prior to their departure for the European Theater of War. After the war and with three young children she began working at Lederle Labs in Pearl River. Anyone who worked at Lederle, knew Mrs. Orange as the guru of the insurance department. Mrs. Orange was well known for efficiently weaving her way through the bureaucracy of employee insurance claims, in an effort to make life easier for the employees. Mary retired in January of 1987, after 36 years. While Mary worked at Lederle full time, she would assist her husband in preparing the Turkeys they raised to sell. From 1954-1956 she also helped her husband in the early morning hours, (prior to going to work herself), on his milk route. She would drive while he would jump off the truck, drop off the milk, eggs and butter at the customers door, and then take off for the next home or business. Many an argument were memorialized during these two years, the best being... "Mary take a left", "Right here?", "No left", "Right here?" and the left turn would get passed on by. After her retirement in 1987, Mary and John enjoyed taking trips with the Lera International Travel Club. They enjoyed taking their annual trip to Woodlock Pines with her sister Peg and her husband John Koleduk, their cousins’ the Leary's and the Frohling’s. They even made a visit to England, and visited the military base where John had served during WWII. Without a reservation, they showed up at the base, and were treated as Royalty, and given the grand tour. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, and maintained an extensive collection of Precious Moments, many which reminded her of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for whom she lived and loved beyond any expression of word. She enjoyed several years of babysitting some of her grandchildren, picking them up at Pre-K, taking them home and spoiling them. Mary had lived in Bardonia from 1950 until 2014. In 2014, realizing she could no longer liver by herself, she decided to move to Wallington, NJ where she would live with her grandson and his wife Debbie who would become her full time caretaker. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband John in 1998, her cherished son Bill in 2016 and her sister Catherine Jones in 1977. She is survived by her devoted children Mary and Mitch Warner, John and Elsa Orange and her daughter-in-law Susan Orange. She is also survived by her dear sister Margaret Koleduk, her beloved granddaughter and caretaker Debbie Warner, 12 grandchildren; Kim, Jennifer, William, Brian, Amy, Kimberly, Caren, Denise, Lori, Jaylene, Samantha and Megan; as well as her 27 great grandchildren, who fondly called her GG. Visiting Wednesday, March 20th 5-8 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave. Wallington, NJ. On Thursday, March 21st, 10am – 11am, there will also be an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church 120 Kings Hwy Tappan, New York 10983, followed by the celebration of a funeral Mass at 11am. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband and son at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
