Obituary for Olga Baginski

Olga (Murga) Baginski entered eternal life peacefully in her Wallington, NJ home on August 26, 2021, she was 85. Olga was born on July 24, 1936 in Bychow, Poland to Edward and Adolina Murga. She was the second of five children. In her early childhood, Olga and her family struggled through World War II, surviving time in German Labor Camps. By the time the War concluded, they found themselves displaced and struggling to build a future. In 1949, Olga and her family were given an opportunity to immigrate to the United States via sponsorship from the Polish Catholic Immigration Bureau. Olga and her family immigrated to North Carolina where they worked tirelessly picking tobacco to pay off their sponsorship debt and to have an opportunity to build a new life in America. In 1950, Olga and her family moved to 6th Street in Jersey City, NJ where they became faithful parishioners of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. She graduated from William L. Dickinson High School in Jersey City and later went on to work for Western Electric Company. In 1957, Olga met the late Mieczyslaw (Matty) Baginski at a Polish Picnic in Jersey City. On June 7, 1958, they were married at St. Anthony’s and continued a life-long love story that resulted in 57 years of loving and dedicated marriage. In 1958, Matty and Olga moved to Wallington, NJ. It was in Wallington where they planted their roots and built their family with the births of their two beloved sons, Witold and Stanley. They also became faithful parishioners of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Olga will be best remembered by her family and friends as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. While fully dedicating herself to caring for her young family, Olga found time to obtain her beautician’s license and went to work for her brother, Witold. Later in life, she again selflessly dedicated herself to helping care for and raise her five grandchildren. She always put the needs of her family first and made sure that her home was filled with love. Olga is survived by her sons and daughters-in law, Witold "Vic" and Elizabeth Baginski and Stanley and Lucy Baginski, her five grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria, Amanda, Lauren and Alana, her sister Janina Tevis, her brother Witold Murga and countless family and friends.
