Obituary for Samuel E Jefferson (Jefferson)

Samuel E. Jefferson, born in Columbia, Mississippi on Saturday, January 12th, 1952, entered the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven and Freedom on Friday, April 24th, 2020 – he was 68 years of age. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Christine M. Jefferson, his 3 sons who respected, admired and loved him greatly – Paul, Andrew and Sam and 2 grandchildren – Samuel Dane Jefferson, Jr. and Evelina Siran Christine Jefferson. They will all miss him beyond comprehension. He is preceded in death by his Father - Leodis Jefferson, Mother - Nina Ruth Jefferson (Copprue), Brothers - Jerry, Jeffrey, Albert Lee and Sisters - Ida May and Willean. Sam bravely served his country in the United States Air Force, dedicating 6 years in the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged upon completing his duty. Sam was a graduate of New Brunswick High School in New Brunswick, N.J. and attended Middlesex County College. During his working years, he owned and operated his own fireplace installment company. He also held Supervisory roles for UPS and Schaffner Manufacturing, CO. He valued a strong work ethic and he loved his Family - above all else. Sam was a former athlete, playing football in high school and was very proud that all 3 of his sons followed in his footsteps and even competed at the collegiate level - all graduating from college. He had a strong passion for the outdoors, fishing, bowling, chess and anything sports related in Philadelphia (especially the E.A.G.L.E.S.)! He also enjoyed Atlantic City and the Bahamas. Along with invaluable advice, life lessons, guidance and LOVE, Sam leaves behind many nieces and nephews - and took a tremendous amount of pride in the name JEFFERSON. Surviving, in addition to his wife and his 3 sons, are his Brother - Jesse and 2 Sisters - Betty and Dot. WE WILL ALWAYS KEEP YOU WITH US AND WE WILL HONOR YOUR LEGACY. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU, ALWAYS!!!
