Obituary for Wayne Rush

Wayne Rush, son of the late Freeman K. Rush and Mary (Fedorchak) Rush, of Wallington NJ, passed away on March 13, 2024. He was 77.

Born in Passaic, NJ, he lived in Wallington, NJ for most of his life. Wayne was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Passaic. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed backpacking, hiking, hunting, and fishing throughout the United States and Africa. He also enjoyed going on safaris and trips to Germany, Paris, Rome, and Hawaii. Wayne served as Petty Officer in the United States Navy as a Corpsman during the Vietnam War.

Wayne is survived by his dear son, Wayne Rush, Jr. and his wife, Heather; his three loving grandchildren, George, Charles, and Alezandra Rush. Wayne is also survived by his sister Ann Welzer and her husband, Frank. He is pre-deceased by his brother, John Senkovich, Jr. and his sister, Brenda Gaydos.

Visitation will be held in Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington on Friday, March 22 from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday morning 9-9:30. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 200 Third Street, Passaic, NJ on Saturday, March 23 at 10 am. Burial to follow in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery, 127 Westminster Pl., Saddle Brook, NJ 07663.
