Evelyn Chita

Evelyn Chita of Wallington, NJ, entered eternal life on June 4th, 2026, she was 96. Evelyn was born and raised in Newark, NJ on June 11th, 1929, to George and Ida (Krumwiede) Cochran. In 1959 Evelyn was married to Walter Chita, and the family settled in Wallington in 1963. During her professional career she worked for the Popular Club, Inc., a mail order catalog, and was a quality control inspector. In her free time, she enjoyed walking and talking to those she encountered. She would enjoy the quiet time of reading, and watching game shows like, “Let’s Make a Deal and The Wheel of Fortune.” Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter in 1997. She is survived by her beloved son Walter and Julie Chita, and beloved daughter Kathleen and Joe McGough. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Megan and Jonathan. Evelyn was also predeceased by her sister Anna and husband Carl Ulrich and her brother Walter Cochran..
