Henry S. Ruszkiewicz passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 2, 2025 just over two weeks shy of his 98th birthday. Henry was born in Passaic, NJ on July 19, 1927 to Joseph and Frances (Halka) Ruszkiewicz. Henry was preceded by his beloved wife, Regina (Janowicz) Ruszkiewicz, in March, 2024. He is survived his dear children, Mary Ellen Kerr and husband Roger, Joe Ruszkiewicz and wife Chris, and his cherished grandchildren, Kevin Kerr and wife Cassie, Kaitlin Kerr and husband Rishav, and his sister-in-law, Rose Sautner. Henry is also survived by his three adorable great-grandchildren. He is also pre-deceased by his brother, Joseph Ruszkiewicz, sister-in-law Eleanor Baran and brothers-in-law Henry and Edward Janowicz.
Henry grew up in Passaic, and volunteered in the Navy in 1944. During his younger years, he played accordion in a number of local bands. After the war Henry met the love of his life, Regina. They were married in 1951 at St. John Kanty's Church in Clifton, NJ, and then eventually settled in Wallington, NJ.
He worked for a number of firms in the garment industry until ultimately owning his own business, Penta Knitwear. Subsequently he worked for the US Postal Service until his retirement.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10am, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington, NJ 07057. Henry will be laid to rest in St. Nicholas Cemetery, 2 Terrace Ave, Lodi, NJ 07644.
