Jozefa Butryn

Jozefa Butryn of Garfield, NJ, entered eternal life on October 8th, 2026, she was 93. Jozefa was born in Pysznica, Poland on March 18th, 1933 to Adam and Anna (Bys) Butryn. She married her beloved husband Stanislaw and in June of 1971 she and her family were afforded the opportunity to live in the United States. The young family made Garfield their forever home. It was here that Jozefa could be found tending to her gardens' of flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed traditional Polish cooking using her home grown bounty. She could often be found crocheting and had an angelic voice when she sang. She truly enjoyed and adored young children. She would often purchase bubble wands to give to children in the neighborhood, and then wave them around with them. When she retired in 1995 at the age of sixty two, she was prepared for her next labor of love, that of Babci and Pra Babci. Jozefa is survived by her devoted daugthers Irene and her husband Bill Whal, Christine Butryn and Genia Serafin. She is survived by her eight beloved grandchildren, and her ten great grandchildren. She was prdeceased by her husband Stanislaw, her son Chester Butryn and daughter Anna Butryn, one grandchild and her five siblings. Visiting Monday, October 12th, 4-8 pm, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Tuesday, October 13th, St. Stanislaus Kostka, 184 Ray Street, Garfield, NJ.
