Sister Lisa Marie DiSabatino, C.S.S.F. (formerly Sister Mary Celestine); entered eternal life, surrounded by her beloved Felician Sisters, on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, she was 82. Sister Lisa was born in Trenton, New Jersey on November 11th, 1942 to Anthony and Adela (Posluszny) DiSabatino. Sister Lisa's father was killed in combat in July of 1944 during WWII, when sister was two years old. When she was seven years old, her mom remarried the man who became her "dad" Joseph (Joe) Nowalinski. Both Sister Lisa and Joe considered each other daughter and dad as he raised her. Sister Lisa entered religious life on July 24th, 1962. She was an accomplished academic earning her Baccalaureate in Elementary Education at Felician College (now Felician University), Lodi, NJ and a Masters in Elementary Reading at Central Connecticut State University, New Britian, CT. Sister Lisa was assigned as a teacher at Holy Rosary School in Passaic, NJ; Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Southampton, PA; Saint Joseph School, Camden, NJ; Saint Luke School, McLean, VA; Holy Rosary School, Baltimore, MD; Holy Cross School, Dover, DE. She was assigned as the Principal at Saint Bridget School, Glassboro, NJ; Principal at Nativity Catholic School, Burke, VA; Principal at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus School, Wallington, NJ. Sister Lisa has been serving as the Pastoral Associate and Assistant Director of Faith Formation at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Wallington, NJ. Sister Lisa was predeceased by her best friend Sister Vicky Bartkowski, in 2023. Sister Lisa is predeceased by her oldest sister Cecilla (Bobby) Nagy and her husband Elek (Junior) and her brother in law James (Jim) Trussell. She is survived by her loving and supportive family, brother, Daniel (Dan) Nowalinski and his wife Louise and her sister, Melissa (Missy) Trussell. Her nieces Donna (Nagy) Weyand and husband John, Emily Nowalinski, April (Gavin) Fox and husband Gerard, Jacquelyn (Jacquie) Trussell and her significant other Paul Henesy, Sarah (Trussell) Scheppach and husband Drew, Dana Cloak and her husband Ryan, Jessica Trussell. Nephews Michael Erik Gavin (Erik) and wife Tara, and Jacob Trussell. Great Nieces Kaitlyn Schujko and Lauren Schujko, Great nephew Jordan Schujko, great neices and nephews Erik Gavin, Jospheine (Joey) Fox, Grace Gavin, Gavin Fox, Elizabeth (Libby) Fox, Jackson Trussell, Ronin Trussell and James Scheppach. In addition, Sister Lisa is survived by Sister Vicky's family, who adopted Sister Lisa into their fold. Public services for Sister Lisa will be as follows: Visitation at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Avenue; Wallington, NJ, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 7th, 2025. A funeral Mass will be celebrated along with the Parish community at 6:30 PM, in the Church.

Sister Lisa will be received into the Convent of the Felician Sisters’ on Thursday, May 8th. Services and prayers, will not be open to the public. Sister Lisa's immediate family and the Felician Sisters’ will privately celebrate a funeral Mass at the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel. Sister Lisa will then be laid to rest at the Felician Sisters’ Cemetery, Lodi, NJ.
