Maria Szostak

Maria Szostak of Garfield, NJ, entered eternal life on March 3rd, 2026, she was 73. Maria was born in Jaslo, Poland on March 9th, 1952 to Jakub and Adela (Przybycial) Gumienny. She was married to her beloved husband of 54 years Tadeusz, on April 1st, 1972 in Poland. She emigrated to the United States in March of 1993, first settling in Wallington, and then Garfield. In Poland, she had worked as an Accountant, and upon arriving in the United States, she took work working for a Child Care Center in Saddle Brook, until her retirement in 2018. When Maria had free time, she could often be found working on her crossword puzzles, or reading. She had a deep appreciation for history and geography. Her granddaughter remembers that she loved cooking and, "Made the BEST perogi." Maria is survived by her beloved husband Tadeusz, her devoted children Andrzej and his wife Izabela Szostak, Agnes and her husband Sergio Rendo, and her cherished granddaughter Kaia Rendo. She is also survived by her sister Wanda and brother Jozef. Visiting 6-8 pm, Thursday, March 5th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6th, 10 am, Holy Rosary Church, 6 Wall Street, Passaic, NJ. Maria will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 Outwater Lane, Saddle Brook, New Jersey.
