Reverend Ronald Regula, entered eternal life on Friday, February 27th, 2026; he was 84. Fr. Ronald was born on January 18th, 1942 to Lester and Anna (Bakalarczyk) Regula, in Passaic, New Jersey. He was ordained at the Immaculate Conception Seminary in 1967, and continued his studies at Seton Hall University. There he earned two Masters' degrees, in 1973 a Masters in Counseling, and in 1976 a Masters in Divinity. While serving the Archdiocese of Newark, he served in parish ministry and various assignments. However, the majority of his ministerial work was devoted to the Pastoral Services of individuals with mental illness, their families, and caregivers, at the Essex County Hospital Center in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Fr. Ronald is survived by his devoted brother and his wife, Richard and Mary Regula, his beloved nieces and nephews Julie and Glenn, Sarah and Michael, Christine and Robert, Richard and Genevieve, and his great-nephew Anthony and great-nieces Mia and Lucy, as well as beloved relatives and cherished friends. Visiting, 10am - 11:30am, Saturday, March 7th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Avenue, Wallington, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12pm, The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave., Wallington, NJ. Fr. Ronald will be laid to rest at St. Michael's Cemetery, 120 Saddle River Road, South Hackensack, NJ.
Father Ronald was known for being a compassionate listener. He had a special love for the marginalized and was devoted to social justice throughout his life. He was beloved by his family for his thought-provoking conversations and his gift for being truly present and accepting of others. He was a man who loved God, the people he served, his family and his friends. He will be greatly missed.
As we are in the Lenten season, Fr. Ronald requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions to the following charities would be greatly appreciated.
Covenant House, NYC or St. Francis Friends of the Poor, NY or The John Theurer Cancer Center - through the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation.
