Memories of Uncle Amby

My family lost one of our best this week. Ambrose Hasuga better know as "Amby" or "Uncle" as I always called him. He worked hard, he enjoyed movies, music, especially polkas and of course baseball! AND family. He moved to NJ to live with us when I was about 6 or 7 years old. He and my grandmother (his sister) looked out for each other and enjoyed some loud discussions about things they agreed on or disagreed on. It was always fun to listen in on their talks. Uncle WALKED EVERYWHERE! All the local coffee shops owners and patrons knew him. He also enjoyed treating himself to nice jewerly i.e. rings and liked showing them off, especially if he thought it was a "deal". He was part of the "gang" I called my family. I respected him and will love him always. Rest in Peace, Uncle Amby. I was just reminded by my sister, Tracy, of Uncle Amby's pipe smoking, the scent of tobacco in his room and of course the pipe collection.
