Elwira Kolakowska, 87, a Wallington resident since Oct 1989, died on Sept 14th, 2013. Elwira was born in Kolaki, Poland on Aug 20th, 1926 to Jozef and Wladyslawa (Gardocki) Golaszewski. In 1955 Elwira married Julian Kolakowski in Kolaki, Poland, he survives. While living in Poland Elwira was the owner of a small grocery store. In addition to cooking, gardening and sewing, her sons recall her as a master knitter, making hats, afghans, scarves, mittens and much more. Knitting was an activity that she could do and did, in her sleep. Elwira is survived by her loving sons Wojciech and Sylvester Kolakowski of Wallington. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson Julian and her twin brother Mietek. She is survived by her brother Jan, sisters Helena and Barbara all of Poland. Visiting 2-4 &7-9 Wed, Sept 18th, Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave, Wallington, NJ.
