Always smiling

I remember the first time I met David Jr. and Barbara - I was working down the hill then and had cut thru the county park woods on my way back to work after lunch. Barbara was pushing little David in a stroller down Wallington Ave one afternoon and as most people do when they see a lady with a baby stroller, I smiled at the baby. When he smiled back at me I instantly knew he was a Popek. I told Barbara that she must be my cousins wife because the baby was definately my cousins son...he had David's face ! We laughed because she was indeed David's wife ( it was a lifetime ago,I was 18 and we hadn't met yet ) and little David definatley looked like his father. Over the years everytime I saw David or spoke to Aunt Joyce I thought back to that day, and admired how David was still always smiling. As if he had a special way of looking at life, always seeing the humor and was in on some " inside joke ". Our entire family is heartbroken for Aunt Joyce, Uncle Johnny, Barbara, David and the kids. Your family was very blessed to have him in your lives and may you find some comfort that he is with Our Lord, hearing old stories from Aunt Jeannie and others. At peace and in His care. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today, tomorrow and always.
